Many teenagers suffer from body acne, and the condition prevents them from enjoying themselves outdoors. They are afraid that if they wear skimpy swim suits, their acne might show. Back and chest acne can really be bothersome. Don't despair. The condition is easy to cure.
The skin is the largest organ we have. Active glands in the skin produce oil and this makes the skin of some people oily. Somehow, germs multiply on dirty skin faster than we can realize. That is why taking a shower everyday and keeping ourselves clean is important. If infection takes place, it may lead to pimples. When left untreated, the pimples could develop into acne. Back and chest acne is a common problem among young individuals. Dermatologists recommend applying 2% salicylic acid cleanser on the affected areas while in the bath. This formula can be bought in the pharmacy. Before going to bed at night, dab benzoyle peroxide with cotton on the acne and leave it there overnight. Continue this treatment for four weeks. While undergoing treatment, never scratch the acne on your back and chest no matter how itchy it gets. If this does not work, seek additional advice from your skin doctor. You might need a stronger formula and antibiotics.
Wear cotton clothes that are not too tight to allow your skin to be free from friction. Choose shirts and blouses made of soft fabric such as cotton and flannel. There are also food items that you must avoid if you already have back and chest acne. Oily foods such as bacon, hamburgers, beef stew, pork chops, lamb chops, French fries and fried eggs may do you more harm than good. Avoiding seafood such as shrimps, crabs and prawns would also make sense as they may cause some irritation on your skin. Never borrow someone's medication, clothes, soap or lotion. When your acne heals after the treatment and the avoidance of oily food, go for a semi – vegetarian diet if you can. Fruits and vegetables might be better for your skin's health than red meat and prawns. Fruits and vegetables contain lots of anti-oxidants and will make you look young even as the years go by.
Ask your dermatologist about the right soap or lotion for your skin. Before buying any shampoo or cream, inquire about these products from your doctor. Always read labels before buying anything for your face, hands or body.
